The Cards Home Opener is less than a week away and if you are from St. Louis you know this is a national holiday around town.  Cardinals Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith has actually started a campaign to make baseball’s opening day a national holiday; which was March 31st this year.

I myself am a huge fan of opening day in baseball.  It’s the coming of spring and the return of America’s pastime.  It’s an American tradition; it’s a day when every fan is in good spirits (even Cubs fans).  It often reminds me of a great movie quote:

”The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it’s a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good and that could be again.”

If you were unaware; that quote was from the Field of Dreams; one of the top five baseball movies of all-time (fact).  This might sound cheesy, but I still get goose bumps to this day when James Earl Jones speaks those words.

So when’s the opening day for Trade Shows?  That’s a good question.  Some people might say it’s the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas; which is the first biggest show of the year.  For me, opening day is the first day when my client exhibits at a show with their new display next to their competitors.  It’s the first day they see their clients face-to-face and meet new potential ones.

Making trade shows a success has become our pastime and we will remain the one constant for our clients; just like we have been since 1933.
